An Advocate for the Troops: Kathleen Gerenger

Much of Kathleen Gerenger’s volunteer work addresses issues of food security and building resources for children within her community. Kathleen Gerenger supports a number of food resources for the needy through her work with the Villanova University Alumni Association, and within her community where she lives she is also a strong supporter of resources for children. Among the charities Kathleen Gerenger supports are The Sharing Center, Give Kids the World, and Seminole Kids House.

But though Kathleen Gerenger’s dedication to these causes is noteworthy, they are not the only ones she supports. Indeed, Kathleen Gerenger also is very devoted to supporting the US troops. Kathleen Gerenger embodies this goal through a surprising activity: running. Because there are a number of footraces that raise crucial funds to improve the quality of life of American troops and their families, Kathleen Gerenger has found that one clever way to support the troops is to lace up her running shoes. Kathleen Gerenger finds that fundraisers that involve running races allow her to pursue her own fitness goals while working to raise money for funds that support the troops, as well as awareness for programs that support US troops and their families.

With this goal in mind, Kathleen Gerenger has been a participant in Operation Give Back, Wounded Warriors Family Support, The Wounded Warrior Project, the Travis Manion Foundation, and America 4R Marines. One of the reasons that Kathleen Gerenger finds it important to support the troops and their families has to do with her own family. Though she is known for her prowess as an accountant, Kathleen Gerenger is also a mom. And family is something that is very important to Kathleen Gerenger, who has two daughters and loves to spend time with her kids. For this reason, she thinks it is very important to support the families of the troops. This is yet another reason that Kathleen Gerenger chooses to support the troops.
